Although the great attention is always on the cars and motorcycles, in the light prototype there are two from Mendoza who have been standing out since the start of the 2022 Dakar: Ricardo Torlaschi and Bruno Jacomy. The first, sailing the Ecuadorian Sebastián Guayasamín, has an extensive career and that journey is bearing fruit.
This Monday, the South American binomial concluded the special in fifth place and rose to eighth place overall with the unit that the Spanish FN Speed enlists. Both have competed in various competitions around the world and knowledge has been key to being able to overcome obstacles in these eight disputed stages.
Jacomy, for his part, is accompanying the British Thomas Bell and they also closed a great day by finishing ninth in the stage won by the American Seth Quintero. In the general they occupy eleventh place and will seek in the coming days to reduce minutes to get into the top ten of the competition.
Quintero, meanwhile, won for the eighth time in this Dakar at the end of the day’s special. The American crossed the finish line more than 12 minutes ahead of Sebastian Eriksson, author of a beautiful comeback. The Russian Pavel Lebedev completes the podium. Slowly but surely, Quintero approaches the record. Two more and he reaches Pierre Lartigue in 1994.
